In-depth – Samsonite Neopulse review
Welcome to my Samsonite Neopulse review, after many requests…here it is. Is the Samsonite Neopulse worth the hype, lets find out.
Its striking stylish design immediately catches the eye and really comes alive through the chic metallic finishing. This European made suitcase really is quite stunning.
Looking at the modern boxy shape, it already gives a good impression of its large packing capacity and volume.
It succeeds perfectly in combining lightness and strength thanks to the patented self-reinforced design, with extra protective corners. The material is called Makrolon…but really all we need to know is that it is strong and robust.
A cabin sized model weighs in at just 2.2kg. It includes soft touch carry handles, a lightweight double tube pull handle, an integrated address label, smooth double rolling 360 degree wheels as well as an integrated TSA combination lock.
To top it off, the Samsonite Neopulse has a lovely champagne accent on the wheel housings, carry handle and pull handle.
Continuing with the interior of the case, we find a fully lined interior in a lighter color for easy packing. With a zipped divider pad in the top compartment and a zipped divider pad in the bottom with cross ribbons.
The Samsonite Neopulse is available in one cabin size and three check in sizes, ranging from 55cm to 81cm.
It comes in five great colors too, so there is something available for most tastes. Furthermore, it is backed by Samsonite’s fantastic 5 year warranty.

Build
Material
The Makrolon material is very durable. It is a patented Samsonite technology which means you may not have necessarily heard of it. However, you have to trust Samsonite. Their reputation is very well respected and hard earnt.
The Makrolon material is a polycarbonate that is lightweight, strong and durable. It is specifically designed for high impact resistance so you can be assured of your luggage’s safety.
If you do happen to get some scratches on it, you can simply t-cut them out again…which is amazing really. This simple maintenance will keep your luggage looking as fresh as the day you bought it.

Construction & finish
When it comes to suitcase build standards, it is Samsonite and Delsey that set the standard. This reputation is hard earnt and does not come easy.
The construction of the Samsonite Neopulse is on point as you would expect. We have already established that the materials are excellent but the build is on point to. Very clean and tidy, the design of the components is fantastic. It fits like a jigsaw.

Design
Style
The style of the Samsonite Neopulse is contemporary and clearly aimed at the younger crowd. However, the appeal is universal so don’t let that stop you.
With its bold lines and rugged appearance, you can see why this is one of the most popular selling suitcases around. You have to give credit to Samsonite for the way they have marketed this range. With the glamorous models and photo shoots, the desirability factor is definitely high.
Wheels
It may not be at the forefront of peoples minds but wheels are important. They need to be strong yet have great maneuverability. This is where Samsonite run the game. They produce great wheels and the wheels on this suitcase are no different…your suitcase will go where you want it too. With 360-degree maneuverability, they come with champagne colored accents. A lovely stylish touch.

Handles
There are handles on the top as you would expect but also on the side. Some manufacturers don’t bother putting one on the side but that is a mistake. There are plenty of occasions where a side handle is required. With their soft touch finish and generous sizing, this is ergonomically perfect.
Alongside the normal handles, is the double tube pull handle. Again, this functions perfectly with a reassuring feel to it.

Lock
The Samsonite Neopulse comes with a TSA approved combination lock. If you are travelling within or too the USA, it is a necessity.
With the zippers actually fitting into the lock, it does mean that these suitcases are not susceptible to the zipper trick where your suitcase can be opened and closed without you knowing.

Functionality
Everything works well together as you would expect. Admittedly, there aren’t a number of innovative features, indeed this is as simple as a suitcase gets. Having said that, it all seemed to function well and it is clear that the end result is as the designers intended.
Value
The pricing reflects Samsonite’s market position, brand and quality. This is a suitcase designed for the mid-market and is priced as such. You can of course find similar looking luggage at lower prices, but the quality will not match this suitcase.
Value is very subjective and it always comes down to the individual. In my opinion, this still represents value for money. Remember in the suitcase market, you pretty much get what you pay for. I would rather pay slightly more knowing that this suitcase is backed by a Samsonite warranty, than risk a lower priced product with a poor warranty.
Verdict
When it comes to knowledge of the suitcase and luggage market, Samsonite rarely get it wrong. They have got it spot on with the Samsonite Neopulse. The suitcase is designed with younger consumers in mind and makes the most of its molding technology and finishing.
They really are stunning to look at and the metallic finish is very premium. All in all, this is a very good-looking piece of luggage. The functionality is standard but the finish is premium.
