I had an issue not so long ago with a suitcase I own, the wheel was replaced within a couple of days. The service was outstanding.

Finally, Samsonite set the standard. It really is that simple. When you buy a Samsonite suitcase, you are genuinely getting a great product against competitor versions. There is a lot of trust in the community with Samsonite, this kind of reputation is hard earnt…and well deserved in my opinion.

So, what makes the Samsonite Flylite DLX review worth looking at?

It’s very stealthy…

The greatest attraction to me and what initially caught my eye was the ‘stealth’ look that it had. You rarely see that in luggage design. In fact, it is perfectly fair to say that most luggage looks eerily similar.

This was not the case with the Samsonite Flylite DLX. Quite frankly, it had a lot more in common with super car design than a run of the mill suitcase.

The lines are what really gives it that look. They are super modern and very eye catching. They give the feel of something very premium. Add the ‘carbon fiber’ look into the equation and we are looking at a new level of design and something very different in the luggage market.

OK…so you can see I’m very impressed with the looks. If this is your thing, you will be too.

It’s as strong as an Ox…well nearly

As I mentioned previously, I have reviewed hundreds of suitcases and laid my hands on plenty. Whenever I have to review a ‘value’ piece of luggage, I exhale despondently knowing the result before I even start. Welcome to ABS luggage…looks great…it is cheap…won’t last very long.

Polycarbonate luggage, well that is a different story all together. Samsonite were one of the companies to bring Polycarbonate to the market and what a change that was.

For those that don’t know, Polycarbonate is a great material. It is incredibly strong and it is self-healing meaning you can push out and bumps and dints. The finish can almost be beautiful as you can texture the surface.

Have I mentioned it is strong? It is likely to take any brutality dished out by any baggage handler, and come out the other end absolutely fine and ready for action.

Over the years, having traveled to many places and back, I have seen thousands if not hundreds of thousands of suitcases. That is a lot of suitcases.

Over the years, I have seen many brands come and go. If I think now, there are so many unbranded cases out there that you cannot be sure of their quality. In fairness to the buyer, their priority was price and I cannot begrudge them that.
